Help beginner learners gain confidence by becoming familiar with basic shapes. Our resource introduces the mathematical concepts taken from real-life experiences, and provides warm-up and timed practice questions to strengthen procedural proficiency skills. The task and drill sheets provide a leveled approach to learning, starting with prekindergarten and increasing in difficulty to grade 2.
About this Resource:
Use different shapes to make a robot or house. Describe where each shape is found in a picture. Transform a shape by turning it, sliding it, or flipping it. Draw the missing half of a symmetrical shape. Match items in your classroom with certain shapes. Identify circles from squares and triangles. Count the number of sides and corners of plane shapes. Count the number of edges, faces and corners of solid shapes.
Aligned to your State Standards and meeting the concepts addressed by the NCTM standards, reproducible task sheets, drill sheets, review and answer key are included.
