Use these fun ways to get to know your students, and how they feel about math. From playing Scoot to building a rapport with your upper elementary/middle school students, these beginning of the year math activities will help you get to know your students and how they feel about math.

  • 10 Math Inventory Task Cards with questions that will have your students writing about their experiences with math.
  • Texting activity where you will "text" back and forth with your students.
  • Figure Me Out! - a fun, creative way to get your students to engage with math on the first days of school.
  • Teacher and student instructions included, as well as a rubric for "Figure Me Out!"

Just print and go! Can be used as individual or whole class activities, as stations, or for homework.
