This packet features a spin-off of the Gingerbread Man story. Students read short passages that describe the escape of the Gingerbread Man, stopping to solve math problems that go along with his adventure.
The 13 math problems cover second grade standards and include -
* addition and subtraction word problems
* basic multiplication
* time/elapsed time
* perimeter
* basic fractions
* number sense (ordering numbers)
The packet can be done with second graders either whole class or in small groups. More advanced second graders could complete it independently. It is also appropriate for most third graders, though struggling students may need help or to be worked with in a small group.
