Description

Students will use a Chomp Saw (or scissors and glue), along with a variety of loose parts, to design and build their houses. Through this hands-on project, we will explore several Grade 3 math outcomes, including:

  • Place value to 10,000 (writing, comparing, ordering numbers)
  • Addition and subtraction within 1000
  • Naming and interpreting fractions
  • Measuring length using millimetres and centimetres

THIS DOWNLOAD INCLUDES

- tracers and cut outs required for assembly

- visuals for steps

- student workbook with "I can" statements (5 pages)

- list of outcomes from Alberta program of studies, gr3

* Easy writing connections

* Easy Social studies connections to municipal and provincial gov't
