What Teachers are saying about My Go Math Extra Practice Resources:

♥ “Terrific resource. My kids get the concepts, but still struggle with the way Go Math presents the questions. This practice packet aligns perfectly with how the questions are asked on the assessment. Thank you!” – Stephanie R.

♥ “Absolutely love these Go Math packs! They are perfect as independent work for my kids.” – Buyer

♥ “These practice sheets have been wonderful for my Tier 3 math students! They take the highly abstract concepts of Go Math and make them concrete enough for my students to do, sometimes independently. I am able to easily differentiate further as needed. Thank you!” – Jennifer L.

♥ “These are amazing! I have bought every chapter up until now and will continue to buy the rest. They are great practice and align perfectly with the Go Math lessons and chapter tests.” – Stephanie Lynn W.

♥ “Great short practices of the skills in Go Math. Super for reteaching those who didn't get it the first time and extra practice to keep skills fresh before chapter test. Thank you!” – Buyer

Why I Use This Resource

When my district first adopted Go Math several years ago, the transition was a bit of a struggle. That’s putting it lightly.

Moving from our old program to this brand new, common core aligned program was overwhelming to say the least. The strategies, skills, and concepts seemed so much more complex than what we were used to. And I couldn’t seem to find any resources that targeted the harder skills I was teaching my students.

After several years of using Go Math, I see the value in the program and how it challenges and pushes students to their highest potential. However, each year I have many students who struggle with the content and need more practice in order to demonstrate mastery on assessments.

I decided to create these extra practice pages to give my students the exposure they SO badly needed. Items are organized by content focus and Go Math Lesson- making it super easy to keep track of everything.

Since using these pages, I’ve seen a remarkable improvement in my students’ understanding and application of the math. I wish I’d had them since I first started teaching common core math! They are a GAME CHANGER.

Solve word problems that call for addition of three whole numbers whose sum is less than or equal to 20, e.g., by using objects, drawings, and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem.
Apply properties of operations as strategies to add and subtract. If 8 + 3 = 11 is known, then 3 + 8 = 11 is also known. (Commutative property of addition.) To add 2 + 6 + 4, the second two numbers can be added to make a ten, so 2 + 6 + 4 = 2 + 10 = 12. (Associative property of addition.)
Relate counting to addition and subtraction (e.g., by counting on 2 to add 2).
