The following journal activities correspond with the first grade Go Math! math series. There is one journal entry for each lesson in the chapter.

Math journals are important because they give children meaning and an opportunity to explain their mathematical thinking. Math journals can be used as a formative assessment, and allow you as the teacher to determine who has mastered a particular skill and who needs additional help.
