Go Programming Language Setup for Mac

Help your students learn the Go programming language. Golang is a language created by Google. Free download that provides instruction to get ready for programming in Go.

This is a helpful aid for computer science classes.

Very simple, straightforward set of steps to get your Mac ready for Go programming.

Download includes a ZIP file containing:

1. One plain text file with instructions

2. One Markdown file with same instructions but with formatting.

This written steps are also available in short videos in my YouTube channel.

Goto https://code.visualstudio.com/ and download the Visual Studio Code Integrated Development Environment (IDE). If you are not familiar with IDEs, the analogy is this: Microsoft Word for Programmers. IDEs are used to create and maintain computer programming. IDEs have advanced tools to help write and troubleshoot code. This IDE can also be used to view the Markdown file. Right-click->Preview to see the file rendered.
