Goalsetting: using A.I. to develop SMART Goals (High School)
Share

Description

Setting good effective goals (S.M.A.R.T. goals) is important, but it can be really hard for students to think about the specifics of what they want to accomplish.

A.I. to the rescue!

If you ask correctly, A.I. can take a student's simply stated goal (get more organized, pass math class, etc.) and give them example S.M.A.R.T. goals to pick from.

This resource walks students through what a smart goal is, then how to ask the A.I. for smart goal versions of their goal. It also reinforces that the student shouldn't stick to what the A.I. gives them, but should adjust it to meet their needs.

This method works with any text based AI - Built in to Google or Microsoft Office, Bard, ChatGPT, or any of the many paid A.I. tools for schools.
