This activity is an independent Digital Fossil Activity. It can be completed by students through Google Classroom on Google Slides. This resource was created during our Covid-19 break for students to continue with distance learning. It has reading, free response, and drag and drop elements. It also has a compare and contrast chart. Students are guided through the activity with readings and charts about Utah Fossils, where to find them, and what environments they came from. Activity follows current Utah UEN 4th Grade Core Science Standards.

Obtain and combine information to describe that energy and fuels are derived from natural resources and that their uses affect the environment. Examples of renewable energy resources could include wind energy, water behind dams, and sunlight; non-renewable energy resources are fossil fuels and fissile materials. Examples of environmental effects could include loss of habitat due to dams, loss of habitat due to surface mining, and air pollution from burning of fossil fuels.
