Use benchmark fractions and number sense of fractions to estimate mentally and assess the reasonableness of answers. For example, recognize an incorrect result 2/5 + 1/2 = 3/7, by observing that 3/7 < 1/2.

Students found this resource very engaging and you can easily use as many of the slides as you want. You can simply make a copy and do slides with the students or you can send the slides to the students. I did both. I did some of the slides with the students and I make a copy of some of the slides for them do on their own as an independent assignment.
