Why is it scary?
Long division is a step by step procedure, that requires students to show their mental math thinking. Confusion begins with organization and how to show our thinking
Remove the fear and engage students in learning long division virtually.
The overall goal of the this interactive slide show lesson is to teach students to solve long division problems. The slide lessons have been broken into 3 parts. Starting from the beginning, they are designed to teach, review and build off each other. By the end students will have mastered the long division procedure.
Part 1 - Division Facts
Part 2 - Remainders
Part 3 - Bring Down & Repeat
Lessons are taught through two viewing modes: Visual Lessons & Your Turn to Practice.
- Visual Lessons slides are designed to view in present mode. Make sure to view and learn in presentation mode for the best learning experience. Visual lessons are designed with transitions to display a step by step lesson instructions.
- Your Turn to Practice slides are designed for students to practice, the skills learned. Exit the present mode and answer directly onto the interactive slide.
Viewing instructions will be indicated throughout the slide show.

What You Need
- This resource was created using Google Slides.
- To use this you must have a Google email. This will give you access to your personal Google Drive and Google Classroom.
- You will need to set up a Google Classroom for your class.
After Purchase Steps
1. Create a copy of the Google Slide
2. Organize the slides in your Google Drive
3. Assign to you students using Google Classroom. Make sure to "make a copy for each student"
4. You can also download a hard PDF and/or Powerpoint copy from Google Slides.
5. Once you make a copy, you can create more slides and edit as you please.
