Description
Dear Educator,
Thank you for your interest in this resource! This activity packet is aligned with the Ontario Mathematics Curriculum, from the revised 2020 curriculum document, and the Ontario Science Curriculum (2022). Students develop their coding skills in this guided activity packet relating to the entire coding strand of math in the Ontario curriculum. This activity bundle addresses the following specific expectations for math coding and spatial sense, and science:
MATH:
C3.1 solve problems and create computational representations of mathematical situations by writing and executing code, including code that involves sequential events
C3.2 read and alter existing code, including code that involves sequential events, and describe how changes to the code affect the outcomes
E1.5 give and follow directions for moving from one location to another
SCIENCE:
A2.1 write and execute code in investigations and when modelling concepts, with a focus on creating clear and precise instructions for simple algorithms
What to Expect
-18 student activity pages
-Activities requiring students to write 1-2 step code
-Altering codes for the correct outcome
-Creating their own code
-Using and creating code to spell high frequency words such as "like, they, those, said"
-Answer key provided
-Lesson pages including describing how to code using directions
-Checkbrick included to asses student work to cover the entire coding using in math
