Description
This was originally a Smartboard Lesson that I adapted to use as a regular slideshow. The lesson reviews polygons as per the Grade 5 and 6 Ontario Math (Geometry) curriculums. Grade 5's focus is on triangles and Grade 6's focus is on quadrilaterals. It pairs nicely with My Grade 5 2D Geometry Polygons and Triangles Quiz/Test
This product introduces the following concepts:
*Polygons (both regular and irregular)
*Triangles (and their names)
*Quadrilaterals (difference between a rectangle, square, parallelogram, rhombus, trapezoid)
*10 Question Review Quiz (includes a bonus question about angles)
*Answers to 10 Question Review Quiz
*Student Handout Slides
This makes for a great intro lesson to polygons for Grade 5 and 6. The slides are designed to have students take their own notes, and then quiz them on what they have just learned. The quiz is to be taken up in class as a quick snapshot of your students understanding on the lesson.
I hope you enjoy doing this lesson with your class. All you need is a projector and some paper for students to do the quiz on and you are good to go!

This is a very good summary of the key terms and concepts of geometry. It is a PDF file. It would be great to print off and to give as a supplement. I will use it as an information worksheet. The quiz is great and an easy way to gauge student comprehension. It would be awesome if you could also add a powerpoint file to the product as well! Thank you!
Good product.
Great!
