Description
For anyone teaching Grade 8 Geography and looking to do an inquiry project with students! This project should be done in groups of 2-4 and should take roughly 3-4 weeks to complete.
The project asks students to choose a country of their choice and compare it to Canada. They must conduct research and complete the following:
- Birth Rate, Death Rate, Fertility Rate, Life Expectancy, HDI (Human Development Index)
- Population Pyramid and explain if it is increasing, decreasing, or stabilizing
- Location and physical geography of your country
- Economic, Political, Social, system (currency, voting, immigration rates etc.)
- Connections between developing vs. developed countries.
- Mapping etc.
