Common Core: Coordinate Graphing and Classifying 2D Figures
Subject: Math Grades: 4 – 8
Objective: Creating two-dimensional shapes on a coordinate plane.

Procedure:
Review with students how to graph on a coordinate plane using coordinates. Then have students create mathematically accurate drawings of the listed two dimensional shapes. The last step is to give the addresses of the shapes vertices.
There are several ways to label the graph axis depending on the ability of the student. There are two versions of the worksheet included. One worksheet has four quadrants and the other has just the first quadrant.
