Description

These are a series of graphs, maps, charts on PowerPoint slides. Each slide has the graphic and a question. Each graphic is used five times (five questions). Most of the questions can be answered fairly quickly so these can be used for bellwork/seatwork for those first or last five minutes of class. They can be either answered by the individual students or discussed as a class as a whole. The answers are located in the notes section of the presentation, so you can print off an answer key for yourself.
While written for the regular education high school students, with some extra direction and class discussion, special education students can also answer most of the questions. This project was developed to help improve the graphic and univarient data scores on our state test(Michigan).
The questions range from simply reading the graph to determining error, validity, and creating a new graph from a data table.
Our school is using this project as bellwork in each of the science classes. Keep in touch, I will be writing three more in the coming years so we will have a four year rotation of bellwork.

Great for integrating math and science. My math department is very glad I am now starting each class with graph practice.

Glad you like it. I'm hoping to get another year's worth done by the end of this year. I have the same students 3 years in a row. So I want different graphs and questions for each year. If you have the same students in both math and science, let me know and I'll send you a copy of a 2nd one for free. I haven't decided if I want to sell the 2nd one or not, yet. Thanks, Tanya
