Description

Assess yours students’ ability to graph and shade 2 variable inequalities with this free digital assessment.

10 problems are included. The questions vary in difficulty and type, including multiple choice, multiple select, word problems, and one extended response. Topics include two-variable inequalities and systems of inequalities.

All problems except the one extended response are self-grading.

You can edit and rearrange problems in Google Forms as needed for your students. Note, some problems and features like graphs cannot be changed, but you can choose to omit those if needed.

This could also be assigned as practice, homework, or a quiz.

This assessment is provided as a sample for my assessment packs. This one is included in both of the following bundles:

Common Core Standard HSA-REI.D.12

Graph the solutions to a linear inequality in two variables as a half-plane (excluding the boundary in the case of a strict inequality), and graph the solution set to a system of linear inequalities in two variables as the intersection of the corresponding half-planes.

This was a good baseline resource to get me started. I had to make some edits for my context, but this is exactly what I needed to start me off.

Used this as an exit slip with linear inequalities. It gave me data for which students grasped the concept and who to pull small group.

Overall, this activity was highly hands-on, collaborative, and fun. Students appreciated the mix of group work, movement, and discussion, and it truly brought math to life for them. This lesson not only reinforced their understanding of exponents but also built teamwork and critical-thinking skills. It’s definitely one I’ll use again!

Represent constraints by equations or inequalities, and by systems of equations and/or inequalities, and interpret solutions as viable or non-viable options in a modeling context. For example, represent inequalities describing nutritional and cost constraints on combinations of different foods.
Graph the solutions to a linear inequality in two variables as a half-plane (excluding the boundary in the case of a strict inequality), and graph the solution set to a system of linear inequalities in two variables as the intersection of the corresponding half-planes.
