Description

Do you Jenga in your classroom? Math Jenga is a great way to engage ALL learners during a center, early finisher, or review activity.

I have created two different versions, each with three differentiated levels. In creating my Jenga game, I bought a regular set and painted the ends of the blocks in four different colors. I included editable game boards so you could type in the colors of the blocks you created. You can also buy colored Jenga blocks on Amazon, and that comes with 6 different colored blocks, and that version of the game is included in this pack as well.

All levels incorporate the following graphs:

  • Bar graph
  • Picture graph
  • Line plot
  • Tally chart

The three sets increase in difficulty with different graph scales and question sets. All questions involve students carefully analyzing the data and answering different word problems while practicing adding, subtracting, and comparing numbers skills.

An accountable math talk page is also included to help guide students' conversations while playing! Directions are also included on how to play the game.

Draw a scaled picture graph and a scaled bar graph to represent a data set with several categories. Solve one- and two-step “how many more” and “how many less” problems using information presented in scaled bar graphs. For example, draw a bar graph in which each square in the bar graph might represent 5 pets.
