Description

Students should match up the cards into eight groups of three. Each group should have a function, a graph, and a list of characteristics (roots, end behavior, and y-intercept). This can be checked either by looking at the students groupings with they finish or they can write to the letters of the cards for each group. The answer key is included in the pdf.

There is a google doc if you want students to submit their answers digitally.

There is a wrong answer here that confused my students. Card L matches with Graph E... Card L should state: As x -> inf, y -> inf, but the card says y -> -inf

Thank you so much for catching that and letting me know! The pdf has been updated with the correct end behavior. I am so sorry that it confused your students.

Was a great way for my students to make connections between the different ways to view quadratics.

My students really struggled with this because I had not gone over all the topics covered in the activity. Make sure you read carefully and attempt to assigning to your students :)

I’m sorry this did not fit your lesson. I have the topics covered listed in the description, but I will reread through to make sure it is clear.

I used this as a review of polynomial features and my students were very engaged. I heard a ton of vocabulary usage and witnessed pretty neat problem-solving strategies. I plan to pull some of the graphs for a warm-up and discuss end behavior, degree, leading coefficient, domain, range, and intervals before taking the unit test.

I used this as a Google Form "check-in" during our Polynomials Unit. Fantastic! Since I used it in my collaborative Alg 2, I limited some of the choices because I felt the students would be overwhelmed having all cards for every equation.
