Description
Help students make connections between the unit circle and the shapes of key trigonometric functions with this concept-reinforcing activity.
Students will use the unit circle to create a table of values for sinθ, cosθ, tanθ, cotθ, cscθ, and secθ given values of θ including 0, π/6, π/3, π/2, ..., 2π.
Students should recognize that vertical asymptotes occur when dividing by 0.
Students will then use the tables to graph y=sin(x), y=cos(x), y=tan(x), y=cot(x), y=csc(x), and y=sec(x) over [0, 2π].
