Description

Included in this zip folder are 10 Power Point files. 3 files are introductory lessons and 7 are assignments. A brief description of each:

Intro #1 is a 27 slide presentation. The emphasis is a review of a function domain, range and inputs and outputs of functions.

Intro #2 is a 33 slide presentation. The emphasis is using inputs and outputs to graph parabolic functions. The axis of symmetry, domain, range, x intercept(s), y intercept and vertex are discussed throughout the file.

Intro #3 is a 35 slide presentation. The emphasis is identifying the x and y intercepts of the parabolic functions.

Assignment #1 is a 24 question multiple choice assignment. It coincides with Intro #1. The student is asked to identify the domain and range from a table of values and points on a graph. Also, the student is asked if a relation is a function based on a graph and table of values. It is on 1 page for easy printing and coded for SMART Response.

Assignment #2 is a 24 question multiple choice file. The emphasis is inputs and outputs of quadratic functions. It is on 1 page for easy printing for SMART Response.

Assignment #3 is 4 parabolas to graph and is FREE in the Prview Section.. Provided is a 10x10 grid. The student fills out a table of values, graphs the parabola on the grid and answers the following questions:

1. what is the direction?

2. What is axis of symmetry?

3. What is the domain?

4. What is the range?

5. What are the x intercept(s)?

6. What is the y intercept?

7. What is the vertex?

8. Is the vertex a maximum or a minimum?

It is on 2 pages for easy printing.

Assignment #4 is like #3

Assignment #5 is like #3 but uses 20x20 grids.

Assignment #6 is like #3 but 6 parabolas and on 20x20 grids.

Assignment #7 is a 24 question multiple choice assignment. The emphasis is finding where a parabola intercepts the x and y axes. It is on 1 page for easy printing and coded for SMART Response.
