Description
Gator Swamp Chomp will help your mathematicians to master the concept of greater than, less than - and leave them begging for more! This 32-slide kit offers teaching points in the beginning, examples for students, math vocabulary words to know, and then loads of fun "playing" while they practice the common core math skill of comparing numbers using greater than and less than symbols.
After enjoying the introduction and "teaching points" of the lesson, students will love dragging up the hungry gators to CHOMP on the biggest number... be sure to have them read the number sentence out loud as they take their turns.
Scaffolded curriculum design provides more support in the beginning, and then gradually increases level of difficulty as the game play continues. This file compares two-digit and three-digit numbers, with one final question that dips into the thousand's place.
Such fun... and SO effective!
* * Be sure to check out my NEW Gator Swamp Chomp 2
which has the same gator chompin' fun, only this time we're comparing different number forms (digits, tallies, base ten, word form). Makes a great companion piece to the original Gator Swamp Chomp!
