This project will allow students to explore the campaign websites of gubernatorial candidates in your state. The project was written for the New Jersey candidates, however the Word document can be easily edited to replace the NJ candidates with the candidates in your state. Following the directions on the sheet, students will visit the official websites for each candidate to learn about the candidates' experience and values. Students will make judgments on which candidate is better equipped to run the state government. They will explore several main issues and the candidates' stances on those issues. Lastly, using a rubric as a guide, students will create a campaign mailer that focuses on one candidate and one issue facing their state.
