Guess My Number - Binary Math System Mixed With Magic UPDATED
Share

Description

A complete presentation with all the visuals for introducing Binary conversions. Instructions written by a CS teacher who has performed magic for more than 40 years. The magic trick is fool proof and requires no special talents other than being able to add and subtract. Masters are provided for the manipulatives in three different sizes including one that can be handed out to the students to push their reasoning ability. The trick hooks their attention and you move to a visual presentation that establishes conversions in a most visual way.

The presentation has step by step instructions for not one but two ways to perform the magic. Unlike most magic tricks, this one can truly be repeated over and over and 99% of the sharpest students will never figure out how you do it. Perfect way to make that lifetime type memory. Also included is an Excel file to make the visuals as large as you are able to print.

New Masters in Excel format provided - previous flaw on two cards.

Students loved this! Very easy to perform to the class and kids were fascinated with the explanation. A number of them wanted to try it on their parents at home!

Thank you for your kind words. My students did much the same and even pulled it on peers across the campus. I have worked magic into more than one of my products and currently have several more in progress.

My students love the "magic" part of the binary cards. Once I explained the binary system and how it is useful in coding, then have even more interest. The binary system piqued students' interest in math and computer science topics. Thanks!

Thank for taking time to comment. I am working on releasing Base Math Bingo cards that can be given as homework and then used as class game. Binary Cards will be updated with new masters and a better font.

It has been one of my students favorite lessons as they use the student cards on teachers and friends. I also am working on an animated version to run on a smart board. I will also be adding some new Intro to Computer Science materials this summer including some materials involving the Jeroo IDE.
