Description
This is a simple core word adapted interactive book you can use with your students in a printable or digital format.
The animals have lost their way and have wandered into the road STOPPING the school bus. Students place various animal pieces (8 total) in the road in response to the sentence read. Example: "What stopped the bus? A cow!"
The animals in this activity (8) include: Cow, sheep, dog, cat, pig, sheep, horse and goat.
- YOU CAN ACCESS THIS ACTIVITY IN A DIGITAL DRAG AND DROP FORMAT USING EASEL
FEATURING:
- Full size 8.5 by 11 page, 3/4 page bus/road picture and 1/4 page Velcro pieces, so you can use individually or with a group.
- Simple drawings and simple repetitive sentences.
- Targets core words HELP, STOP and WHAT
- Coordinates with my School Bus Rescue interactive smartboard slideshow.
HOW TO PRACTICE CORE WORDS USING THIS ADAPTED BOOK
Model - Read the sentence on the page and show student(s) where the core words HELP, STOP and WHAT are located on device(s) or big core board.
Imitate - Ask student(s) to point to HELP, STOP and WHAT after you model it.
Encourage the student(s) to point to HELP, STOP and WHAT independently after a sentence is read.
Reward a desired response by having the student transfer the target Velcro piece to the page.
