Description

Do you need some fun and engaging ways to get your students writing this Halloween? These 20 task cards each show a Halloween scene and prompt students to use their senses to write or say a detailed description. Don't worry...although most of the cards are a little spooky there are a few non-scary pictures for those students who do not like to be scared!

This products includes 2 options: 20 Descriptive Writing Task Cards and 20 Slides. You can use the task cards as descriptive writing practice, story starters for creative writing or even as speaking practice for your ESL students. The larger slides can be projected onto your board as a warm up or to provide an example of how to use the task cards. When I use these slides as a warm up, I like to play appropriate music or sounds in the background. For example, you could play some spooky organ music to get them thinking about their Halloween scene.

If you are using the task cards as a writing assignment, there is a graphic organizer and writing paper included.
