Description

Halloween Hashtag STEM Block Math Activities: These activities are great for math centers, small groups, morning tubs, independent work or task boxes during the month of October or Halloween activities.

Do you have a set of stem blocks? The blocks in the pictures were purchased at Target in the dollar sections. Young children love to engage with their environment and enjoy building and exploring with these blocks. Target has a Halloween tub of hashtag blocks with the colors: purple, orange, black and white. If you weren't able to grab this set, you can sort out these 4 colors from other sets of hashtag blocks.

There are so many early math concepts that can be worked on with this activity math pack using hashtag blocks.

Counting Potions Activity

How to play? 

  1. Give students a small black cauldron (found at Dollar Tree) or little bowl, spoon, and a container of hashtag blocks in white, black, orange and purple. 
  2. Give students 1 potion recipe card at a time. (16 Potion Cards with quantities 1-6)
  3. Students read the potion, matching the number of hashtag with the number of potions on the card. 
  4. Count and put the hashtags in the cauldron and stir to complete the spell!

Printing

All task cards are in color.
