Halloween Math Scavenger Hunt Task Card with QR code bundle
Share

Description

In this product, students have 3 hidden codes to decipher using different math concepts. They start by scanning the QR code on the first card, which will lead them to a problem to solve. After they solve it, they use the Alphabet code to turn that answer into a letter. They move onto card 2 and so on until the whole message is decoded.

In the 3 sets:

1 – Multiplication Scavenger Hunt: In these cards, students will answer 1x1-digit or 1x2-digit multiplications. There are 9 cards that spell out HALLOWEEN.

2 – Order of Operation Scavenger Hunt: In these cards, students will answer different equations but they have to use the Order of Operation (BEDMAS). Example: 2 + 3 x 2 or (2 + 3) x 10 - 5. There are 11 cards that spell out MONSTER MASH.

3 – Word Problem Scavenger Hunt: In these cards, students will use different math concepts (time, mL to L, addition/subtraction, multiplication/division) to solve 13 word problems. The 13 cards spell out JACK O LANTERNS.

How to use in your classroom

These cards are perfect to use in your math centers or in your interactive math journals. You can laminate the cards and have them in a math center or you can print them out and allow students to work on them independently in their math journals.

**To use these cards, you must have a tool that allows you to scan QR codes. I do have a set that does not use QR codes. Click here for that set.**

Loved this activity!! My students couldn't wait to run from problem to problem and tag the QR codes. It was a breath of fresh air compared to our typical scavenger hunts.
