Description
Halloween * Halloween * Halloween This math packet is an engaging way to practice subtraction facts. It includes:
*Two levels of game play for differentiated learning
- A pumpkin patch game board with 25 pumpkins with numbers 0- 10 .
- A pumpkin patch game board with 25 pumpkins with numbers 0- 20.
*A blank recording sheet where the children record the subtraction problems they create.
*Directions for making the activity more competitive
*A follow-up worksheet that incorporates greater than, less than, and equal to in the color by difference key.
Although I designed this as a subtraction activity, you could add differentiation to your math class by using it as an addition activity for your higher math students since it could include double-digit addition problems.
This math packet would also be a great addition to your pumpkin literature unit as a way to bring in a math component.
Math common core correlations are included on the direction page.
You would need to supply pumpkin seeds if you want to use them. If not, you could use cubes, chips, or mini erasers.
