Description

Halloween Math Word Problem Craftivity using Second Grade Standards.

This is an interactive second grade craft and activity that allows students to practice and deepen their knowledge of beginning of the year math skills. This craft and activity will help keep students engaged and having fun while reviewing content.

This activity can be used for a whole group lesson or as a math center.

There are 6 One Step Word Problems for students to work on. Students can work in partner pairs, small groups of 3-4, or independently.

Second Grade B.E.S.T. Standards: AR.1.1, NSO.2.3

Students are practicing:

-Solve one- and two-step addition and subtraction real-world problems.

-Add two whole numbers with sums up to 100 with procedural reliability. Subtract a whole number from a whole number, each no larger than 100, with procedural reliability.

Directions:

1. For best results, I suggest you print one complete set for each student. Students need the question page, candy page, and candy bag page. Print in black and white.

2. Students will solve all 6 questions using any strategy.

3. Students will refer to candy sheet to find the candies that match their answers.

4. Students will color and cut out their candy pieces.

5. Students will paste the candy pieces onto the candy bag.

6. Students will turn in completed work.

*Bonus: Display student work for a fun Halloween bulletin board.

I hope you and your students enjoy this resource!
