Description

Looking for a spooktacular hands on resource for your third graders as they learn to round whole numbers to the nearest 10 and 100 this October? Halloween Rounding Whole Number to 10 and 100 task cards are a fun, prep free resource your students will love this Halloween!

Halloween Rounding Whole Numbers to 10 and 100 task cards are a flexible math resource to incorporate into your lesson as a guided math center rotation, review exercise, small group work, morning work or intervention task.

Halloween Rounding Whole Numbers includes 120+ task cards that can be used as a quiz, drill, test, or assessment tool to help you easily determine student mastery of the learning target. .In addition to this an instruction page is included as well as a visual reminding students how to work out whether a number needs to be rounded up or down.

For Aussie teachers this resource aligns with ACMNA027 and for US teachers it aligns with CCSS 3.NBT.1.

The task card covers the following skills when rounding the number to the nearest ten and hundred.

- reading a whole number

- locating the number on a number line model (provided on task card)

- visualising the rounding rule

- writing and recording their answer.

The resoure is self-checking. Simply print the task cards and the answer strips and place them back to back when laminating. Students can attempt and then check, or their partner can check their answers. If you are concerned about students checking before attempting then simply do not print the answer strips - it is totally up to you.

The resource is color coded. Task card strips with an orange background require students to round to the nearest 10. Task card strips with a pink background have students round to the nearest 100 allowing for easy differentiation in your maths lesson.

These come as pdf printable sheets that can be printed on card stock and laminated to use year after year. I like to store them in a zip lock bag
