Handwriting Practice and Progress Monitoring-- 3rd Grade Common Core
Share

Description

Grade 3 handwriting skills include ELA Common Core for teachers and occupational therapists to instruct, observe, and collect data on handwriting and early writing skills. Tools are included for teachers, OTs, and students: Mini-posters of skills, data collection sheets, self-monitoring of skills in practice and in writing.

With these tools, your students will know what they are supposed to learn, how to compare their work with the expectations of the skills, and how to implement those skills in their writing. Progress charts for students increase student motivation and awareness of learning goals, success criteria, and application of new skills in their writing.

Create student folders with skills posters and self-monitoring sheets to allow students to track how they are using their skills in their writing.

Skills posters can be printed on cardstock, laminated, and hung in the writing area as a reference.

Progress charts for teachers and therapists provide data for progress reporting for each skill by grade level. These can be used beyond the grade they are first taught in as students continue to build on their skills over the years.

For students with IEPs, suggested IEP fine motor goals can be used or modified for the common core standards addressed in this packet.

Each grade K-3 is available for purchase separately. Save and buy the K-3 Bundle. Great for use as review and application of skills learned in previous grades. Target skills for students who did not mastered them in the grade they were first taught.
