Introduce students to the changes to African Americans after WWI including the Great Migration, Harlem Renaissance, Marcus Garvey, and rise of the KKK. For the activity, students analyze a variety of documents looking at African American achievements, but also conservative Americans backlash to these achievements. Finally students answer the essential question, "Did the African American cultural achievements during the Harlem Renaissance lead to modern changes or an increase in conservative values?"
