About the Booklets

Booklet 1: The students practice recognizing Hebrew letters by name or by sound and then learn to read and sound out letters and words with קמץ, פתח and חתף פתח. They are introduced to a silent letter at the end of a word (aleph, hey, or ain).

Booklet 2: The students continue to practice reading words with קמץ, פתח, חתף פתח, and a silent letter at the end of the word, progressing to four-syllable words (5 letters).

Booklet 3: two letter words with קמץ, פתח or חתף פתח and any letter at the end. While the focus is on reading and not on vocabulary - all of the ‘words’ in the practice sets are actual words, which is excellent for native Hebrew-speaking students. It is also an opportunity for the teacher to differentiate and teach some students vocabulary.

Booklet 4: three letter words with קמץ, פתח or חתף פתח and any letter at the end.

Booklet 5: שווא and everything that was practiced up to now. Sets 8,9, and 10 are simple sentences such as שרה הלכה לאט and ורדה רקדה וגם שרה קצת .

Booklet 6: חיריק (either followed by a yod or not) and everything the students can read by now.

Booklet 7: חולם

Booklet 8: חולם מלא וחולם חסר

Booklet 9 and 10: סגול וצירה

Booklet 11 and 12: שורוק וקובוץ
