It's my belief that students should be working on academics after school, but also that they should take ownership of where they need extra practice.

Enter the "Helpwork Log".

I don't assign homework each night unless there is work students haven't completed in the allotted class time. However, if a student is working after school, I feel they should receive some sort of external "perk" for returning their "Helpwork Log" with a signature. That part it up to you. But I have had great success with parents and students alike who are putting the effort in after school to improve their in-class skills.

Just change up the calendar each month. I attach the calendar to my monthly newsletter.
