Heredity Character Project
Share

Description

This project is a student favorite all year. In this project students will pick two fictional characters, one male and one female. They will then cross the two characters with a given number of traits and produce an offspring between the characters which they must draw based on its inherited traits. This project helps students to put into practice the concepts of dominant and recessive, homozygous and heterozygous, traits, alleles and how to complete a punnett square. There are two different versions as well as a step by step guide for each version to walk students through the project. Two different rubrics included for easy grading!

This project is perfect. I was looking for a way to wrap-up my first half of the genetics unit and stumbled upon this. Such a fun and cute way to practice punnett squares and involve high interest and student choice! When I told my kids we were doing this they were so excited! It's an excellent resource!
