The Invisible Man The Invisible Man is a science fiction novel by H.G. Welles. Originally serialized in a magazine in 1897, it was published as a novel the same year. The Invisible Man of the title was a man named Griffin. He was a scientist who devoted himself to research invented a way to change the human body to that of air so that it neither absorbs nor reflect light and thus becomes invisible.
