Description

Looking for a go-to activity to play for the holidays that won't waste a day of math instruction? This bundle of games has fun, NO-PREP partner games to have your students work on basic computation with a seasonal twist. The goal of each game is to add, subtract, multiply, or divide the numbers from four dice to equal an assigned number. Every time students use all of the dice to make the assigned number, they get to color/draw a piece of the seasonal subject matter. The first student to color/draw all 8 pieces win!

We use this with third-graders to focus on NUMBER SENSE and COMPUTATION using all operations. We also use this game with fifth-graders to focus on ORDER OF OPERATIONS.

Two LEVELED worksheets will introduce your students to how the game works before turning them lose to play. Worksheets may be printed and/or displayed from a projector so they can work through some problems as a class first.

Included in this product:

  • Teacher Instruction Sheet
  • Worksheet with dice & numbers listed for students to only fill in operation signs
  • Worksheet with dice for students to fill in both numbers and operation signs
  • Game Board (with space to record equations)
  • Answer Sheets

This activity works especially well in math centers, math workshop, small groups, or RTI intervention and is great for independent or partner practice.
