Description

Build confident handwriting and sound recognition with these Kindergarten Letter Tracing and Printing Practice Worksheets. Students practise correct letter formation, handwriting, letter tracing and phonics sounds using 42 large hollow, traceable letters.

Children can trace inside each letter, create rainbow letters, colour, shape and decorate the letters while saying and reviewing the corresponding sounds. These activities help children connect letter formation with phonics knowledge while strengthening pencil control and fine motor skills.

Use the worksheets for Kindergarten, 1st Grade, and ESL  handwriting practice, phonics review, writing centers, small groups, intervention, independent work or home learning.

Writing Center - phonics printing practice activities

· Make “Rainbow Letters” by drawing the letter(s) inside the hollow letter… one letter in red, one in blue, one in green, etc.

· Ask the child to draw items that use the sound, around the rainbow letter.

· Add glitter and sticky gems to the hollow letters.

Play-dough Centre - phonics printing practice activities

· create the letter(s) that make the sound

· review phonics sounds that have been taught

· connect the sound with the letter(s) that represent the sound

· make objects that have that sound

Reading Centre

· “read the sound”

· put the letters in a sequence to spell a word

· look for that sound in a book

Homework

· color the letter and draw objects that have that sound

· talk with parents/caregivers about phonics

I used this for a student with fine motor difficulties. I printed and laminated them so that they could be reused for printing practice using dry-erase markers. We also used wiki stix and had the student form letters that way.

I'm glad your student enjoyed this. Making a collage and recording the sound all over the page, or creating a booklet with the sounds and completing pages where, "I know these sounds" is something my grandchildren enjoyed doing.
