Description
Do you spend a lot of time going over homework (time you need to be using to cover your many standards)? Use this homework club routine to solve that problem.
This daily homework routine will reduce the time you spend on review and checking homework. Each homework club has 4 jobs: Facilitator, Materials, Timer, and Recorder. In this product each of the 4 jobs are explained. The facilitator has a sheet (that you can laminate) with sentence stems and questions to help lead the discussion. The recorder also has a sheet where they will write down any questions they were confused about that they would like the teacher to answer.
This resource will teach students responsibility and give them a chance to "talk math."
It is important that homework is reviewed daily so that students are not making the same mistake each night. However, it is difficult to allocate the time to correcting each question. In their homework club, students will be discussing the answers they got for each question, critiquing and answering each others' questions. You can provide a homework answer sheet to the facilitator so that way you know your students are getting the correct answers. Also, the recorder will be writing down any numbers that the students collectively did not understand, that way you can go over those specific questions.
HOMEWORK CLUB COVER IS AVALIABLE WITH AND WITHOUT THE MATH SYMBOLS!
