Get organized for Back to School! If you have a SMART Board, you must have this product! It is one of my most popular SMART board activities! It can be used at any time of the day or unit and for any grade level/subject. There are 2 pages provided that are titled "Questions over HW" and "Questions over the Test".
Students drag the number of the question that they would like to go over to the right side. (Depending on how much time we have and my objectives, I may give students a limit as to how many votes they can make. Three is always a good number and it makes students prioritize their questions.) As students vote, the teacher or a student can organize the numbers. This gives immediate feedback to both the teacher and students as to what questions are of concern. The teacher can then remediate as deemed necessary.
HELPFUL HINTS
-You can save the document with student votes to plan review activities for the next day(s).
-To speed up the organization process, someone can be at the desktop organizing numbers with the mouse while students continue to vote.
-Encourage everyone to vote. That is why there is a "none" for those with no questions. This encourages entire class participation and movement which can be especially helpful on a block schedule or for an active class.
