Description
This resource is aimed at helping students learn about Homonyms (words that sound the same but are spelled differently and have different meaning). These games are to help students learn the different meaning and spelling of some homonyms.
Three version of the same matching game are included:
- Version #1: each playing card includes the word and the visual.
- Version #2: each playing card includes the visual and a sentence to help put the word into context.
- Version 3: each playing card includes just the visual.
These can be used as an instructional tool, in a small group lesson, a front loading activity, a literacy center, a review, or in any other way you see fit. The absence of distracting graphics such as borders and other decorations are a purposeful design choice to prevent pulling focus away from the learning and task at hand.
