Looking for a fun activity to welcome your students back after winter break? Bring the hot chocolate, and I'll plan the rest!

Students will be able to use vivid sensory details and descriptive language to create a compelling and immersive piece of writing about hot chocolate, demonstrating their ability to engage the reader's senses (sight, smell, taste, touch, and sound) and evoke a strong emotional response.

Included in this activity are ready-to-print worksheets and/or ready-to-post Google Slides. Students will brainstorm sensory details while they enjoy a warm cup of hot chocolate. They'll then choose a story starter or create their own, and write a descriptive paragraph including their sensory details. A variety of slides are included so students can publish their paragraphs and you can easily compile them into one collaborative document.
