How Do the Toys Move? Picture Sorting Activity

Use this activity to help support your students‘ learning of forces, push & pull.

The toys pictured are available from discount stores and Temu. I allowed my students to play with them and discover whether they moved by pushing, pulling or both pushing and pulling.

The toys I used are:

• Pop up giraffes
• jumping dolls
• fidget spinners
• jumping frogs
• stretchy noodles
• pop tubes
• bendy alien
• suction toys (I call them ‘Stickees’)

This PDF includes:

1 x A4 activity sheet

1 x A4 pictures sheet - 4 sets of 8 pictures per student. I found it easiest to trim each strip of pictures and then give one strip (one set) to each student, they then snipped each picture into a small tray, so they didn’t get their pictures mixed up with the student next to them.
