Description
Fully integrated project for fourth through seventh grade. Draws on reading, writing, math, and science -- a great addition to STEM. Project includes a project overview for students, potential topics of study, an essay outline, and detailed teacher notes.
Works well within grade levels where the human body or human growth and development is studied. Allows students to pursue a topic of interest related to the science unit being conquered in the classroom. Encourages students to explore scientific inquiry or the scientific method, valid versus invalid resources, and proper formatting of a traditional informational essay.
A great way to foster community within the school and also within the immediate community. Invite all of the other classes in the building and all of the students' parents and grandparents! You can also send invites to community businesses and groups. Always a huge hit at my school and within my community!
