Description

Students will use the Smithsonian's website to navigate through 4 different species of human ancestors. They will then have to list characteristics, time period in which they lived, where the fossils were found, and other pertinent information. It ends with the students reading the CNN article on the newly discovered species, and students answering questions on that species.

Great activity utilizing a great resource to gather information! The information is very interesting and students enjoyed comparing the species. I added a human origins evolutionary tree I found online at the end to give them a visual.
