Topic: Human Rights Violations

This poster is helpful in showing the massive volume of historical, human rights violations. There are five basic human rights logos at the top which could be referred to as enduring issues through time: FREEDOM OF SPEECH, FREEDPOM OF RELIGION, FREEDOM TO LIVE, FREEDOM TO MOVE and basic FREEDOM. The poster highlights aggressive language such as genocide, famine and killed for impact on the student. This straight- foreword, basal verbiage can be used as an anchor point when students are asked to analyze how an author uses and refines a key term over the course of a text.

Stalin is intentionally stripped of a bit of his formidable reputation as he is referred to as "Joey". This can be discussed as an example of author's bias. As we become more and more desensitized by culture regarding violent crimes against citizens, the poster aims to stir disgust for such actions. This poster is one small piece of an illustrated series of eras in world history.

USES:
