Description
This is a sixth grade science lesson on Hurricanes. This could very easily be adapted for other grades as well! The lesson introduces hurricanes using a PowerPoint (downloaded seperately).
The students are engaged by creating a KWL chart, and are assessed by filling in a class matrix, with a short quiz included to check understanding or add to other resources for a more thorough assessment.
This is a great way to give older elementary students a chance to do some kinesthetic work and work together as a team to fill in a class matrix. My sixth graders LOVED this lesson! Comes with the detailed lesson plan, KWL chart, quiz, matrix cards, and matrix master sheet.
