8 day Hurricane Unit Pacing Suggestion:

Day 1: The BBC hyperlink & worksheet (correct answers together at end of class)

Day 2: Read aloud Water Cycle Extreme & Hurricanes & discuss, on a seperate sheet, the comprehension questions (students complete independently)

Day 3: Correct Water Cycle Extreme & Hurricanes, Students complete vocabulary puzzle worksheet independently. Have students use the trivia cards and board game

Day 4: Correct puzzle worksheet, Read aloud Hurricanes are born in West Africa on a seperate sheet, the comprehension questions (students complete independently) If time allows, have students use the trivia cards and board game.

Day 5: Explain accrostic project - rough draft due today

Day 6: Final copy due of accrostic

Day 7: Have students use the trivia cards and board game to review

Day 8: Quiz.
