Description
Students will practice graphing and identifying characteristics of hyperbolas through this matching activity!
Students will be given four sheets containing the following:
- Equations of hyperbolas in conic form
- Equations of hyperbolas in standard form
- Characteristics of hyperbolas (center, vertices, foci, and asymptotes)
- Graphs of hyperbolas
Students will cut out each individual square and work to match the conic form, standard form, characteristics, and graph of each hyperbola. Students will show their work on the student work sheet provided. Once finished, the teacher can check their solutions with the provided answer key.
If done correctly, students will complete 16 problems. Students can work independently or in a group setting.
